Volunteering at KidsQuest is an excellent opportunity for students and adults to give back to their community. Our volunteers bring creativity and new ideas to KidsQuest! Whether assisting in our summer camps, supporting a special event, or engaging with children on the museum floor, each volunteer brings new perspectives and more joy to the museum! Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Available opportunities and volunteer requirements are listed below.

Special Events Opportunities All Ages

Volunteer 6

KidsQuest hosts multiple special events throughout the year. Each event is fun, educational, exciting, and needs you! The museum is always open for play, but these special events kick it up a notch with themed, STEAM activities to increase the fun! Volunteers support these events by leading these activities and interacting with kids through hands-on play. Special Events volunteers are needed for various yearly or non-regular events.

Summer Camp Ages 14-18

Our camp volunteers play a vital role in supporting KidsQuest educators all summer. While leading activities, assisting with camp curriculum, and

 playing with our campers’ volunteers can create connections and learn valuable leadership skills. Summer camp volunteer opportunities open in April for the upcoming summer. Prospective volunteers will be asked to fill out an application, participate in an interview and complete a background check.

Teen Volunteers Ages 14-17

Long term teen volunteer applications are full through June, check back this summer!  Special event volunteer opportunities are still available throughout the year.

KidsQuest teen volunteer positions are perfect for those who visited the museum growing up and want to give back to their communities through STEAM education and play! This opportunity is great for high school students who need volunteer hours or are looking for something to do after school. While supporting on the floor, teen volunteers have more independence to lead and engage in educational activities that match their interests. Teen volunteers will gain valuable work experience skills and create stronger community connections. Teen volunteer opportunities require a minimum three-month commitment of two or more hours per week.

Adult Volunteers 18+

At KidsQuest, we believe you are never too old to play! College students, professionals, parents, and grandparents are excellent teachers for our youth and vital to the museum. Whether they’re guiding children through exhibits, leading an interactive art or science project, assisting in one of our programs, or entering data adult volunteers serve as excellent museum interpreters. They are an important part of our team! Interested in long-term opportunities?
