Family Adventures January February March

Family Adventures in Playing with Fire
Friday January 21st 5:30-7pm
Intended for 6+

Colors and shades come alive under the spark of flames. Melting and scorching your way through this workshop, you will manipulate plastics with heat, paint with fiery marks, and take home a flame of your own through candle making. Don’t worry, we will be manipulating flame safely, learning about the science behind the process. Intended for children 6 years and older.

Family Adventures in Light-up Painting
Friday February 18th, 5:30-7pm
Intended for 6+

Masterpieces will come to light through scientific inquiry and circuitry. You will be guided through an acrylic painting project, and then create your own simple circuit to connect to your piece. Bring home a painting that lights up the room!

Family Adventures in Pottery & Plants
Friday March 18th, 5:30-7pm
Intended for 6+

What plants are native to the Pacific Northwest? You will slip, score, and coil your way to completing your very own terracotta pot. You will also learn about native wildflowers while creating your own “garden in a glove” using native seeds. No green thumb needed! Bring home a piece of nature in your glazed and fired handmade pottery.

Danger Day with Special Guest Gever Tulley Monday, January 31st

Learn to start a fire, use a real knife, catapult heavy objects and swing from a beam far above the ground. Do these actions make you nervous as a parent? You’re not alone. Special guest and safe risk expert Gever Tulley and the KidsQuest educators will walk you through these lifelong lessons and allow your family to connect on a new level through this risk taking adventure. Meet us at KidsQuest Monday, January 31st to experience that magic and marvel of Gever Tulley and his teachings.

Step into the danger zone with Gever Tulley and the KidsQuest educators. Your child will learn all about safe risk and put that risk to the test as they use knives, learn to start a fire, climb ladders, swing from beams & more. They’ll get the chance to test their  skills and learn from an expert at this unique and very special event.

Holi Festival of Colors Friday March 11th, 4pm and 5:30pm

Celebrate an ancient Hindu tradition to welcome Spring. Use colorful sand to create Rangoli with traditional stencils and listen to legendary stories about Holi. With movement and action, create your own vibrant canvas decorated with gulal – dry colorful pigments customarily thrown on the second day of Holi. Come observe this colorful holiday with us!Holi Festival of Colors

Mask Policy:
By reserving a ticket, you are agreeing all members of your group will adhere to the following mask policy:

  • We require that all visitors ages 3+ wear a mask.
  • Face coverings must cover your nose and mouth throughout the duration of your visit both indoors and out.
  • Mesh masks and masks with vents are not accepted.
  • Medical exemptions are not accepted.
  • For children with sensory processing concerns please reach out for more information on exceptions.

By reserving a ticket, you are agreeing all members of your group will adhere to the following policy:

  • In compliance with the current King County mandate, all visitors ages 12 and over must present one of the following to enter the museum:
    • Proof of vaccination via a physical card, legible photo of your vaccine card, or use of the MyIRMobile app.
    • A negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to your visit.
