Field Trips & Educational Programs

KidsQuest Children’s Museum is an educational and fun experience for organized group and school field trips. Multidisciplinary activities and programs encourage visitors of all abilities and learning styles. Exhibit areas are aligned with Washington State EALRS. Organized groups and schools will enjoy hours of delight and discovery as they explore the exhibits together and participate in guided activities.

Self-Guided Exploration

Ages Pre-K to 4th Grade
Students of ages can explore KidsQuest with their teachers and chaperones. Take advantage of the entire Museum to help enhance your curriculum.
Cost: $4 per student
Length: 1.5 hours

Self-Guided Exploration & Activity

Ages Pre-K to 1st Grade
Younger students can explore KidsQuest with their teachers and chaperones and then participate in a guided art activity designed just for them.
Cost: $4.50 per student
Length: 1.5 hours

Self-Guided Backpack Adventure

Ages 2nd to 4th Grade
Explore KidsQuest with a backpack full of activities and experiments! Packed with equipment for a trip around the Museum, this adventure provides a fun, easy way to learn.
Cost: $5 per student
Length: 1.5 hours
Field Trip available after September 1, 2007

Science in Action

Ages 1st to 4th Grade
Conduct a facilitated science experiment in our QuestLab! Experiments encompass physical, chemical, biological and earth science standards with topics including air pressure, electricity, simple machines, rocks and minerals, living things and magnetism. Topics can be tailored to your classroom curriculum. Students will also have a chance to explore the Museum with their teachers and chaperones.
Cost: $6 per student
Length: 2 hours
Field Trip available after September 1, 2007

Scheduling your Field Trip

Field trips can be scheduled year-round Tuesday through Saturday between 9:30am and 3:30pm and Sundays between 1pm and 3:30pm. Self-Guided Exploration with Activity and Science in Action are not available on Saturdays and Sundays. A minimum of ten children is required for group rates.

Chaperones

One adult chaperone is required for every five children and there is no admission charge. Any additional chaperones over the 1:5 ratio will be charged $4.

Reservations and Payment

To schedule your visit, please contact KidsQuest's Education Department at 425-637-8100. Field trips must be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance. Payment is required on the day of your visit. Museum memberships, PRIME Card and passes are not valid for field trips or group visits.

Limited funding is available for students who may not be able to afford the field trip admission fee. Please call for more information.

Confirmation

A confirmation letter will be sent within ten days of scheduling your field trip. A chaperone guide, Museum floorplan and parking information will be included.

Planning Tips

  • Schedule your trip as early as possible to ensure your date is available.
  • Provide nametags for all children, teachers and chaperones.
  • Remember, KidsQuest does not allow food or drinks in the Museum.

If you have accessibility needs, please call the Museum at 425-637-8100. Attendants of disabled persons are admitted free.

The Explore Store

The Explore Store is filled with fascinating toys, books, and kits that reinforce concepts in our exhibits. Students are welcome to shop, and must be supervised by an adult. For information about pre-ordering souvenirs for students, please call us.
