This week @ Dino-mite Dinos Camp
Monday's Theme: Who were the dinosaurs?
After we got to know each other, we spent some time coming up with rules we all thought we should follow while in camp.
Then we CREATED...
Dinosaur nametags
Paleo-Necklaces (decked out with dinosaur and claw beads!),
and a Dinosaur Fact book (that we will continue to work on all week).
We also explored books and let our imaginations run wild with imaginative play using dinosaur figurines.

Tuesday’s theme: How big were the dinosaurs?
We spent some time as paleontologists examining dinosaur claws and teeth fossils and discussing how big dinosaurs were (using string for height and length).
We also worked on our Dinosaur Fact books and
Paleo-tool box AND we received our first paleontological tool to go in it!
(a magnifying glass - to help us on our dig)
In preparation for a surprise later in the week –
we placed letters and dinosaurs shapes on a piece of sun-print fabric.

Wednesday’s theme: Where did dinosaurs live?
We designed dinosaur habitat placemats, received TWO new tools for our Paleo-toolbox
(a brush and a ‘pick’) and created some spectacular Adventure Hats for our dino dig tomorrow!
We also spent some camp time outside to see how long an Apatosaurus really was...and his was BIG!!

Thursday’s theme: Dino Detective Day (aka Dino Dig Day!)
Soooo...We went on a scavenger hunt throughout the museum for dinosaurs, painted dinosaur puzzles and made dinosaur casts with clay.
But the big event of the day was when we followed the dinosaur tracks to our dino dig site!
The dino dig was surveyed off, where we each found our dig sample to take back to the ‘museum’ for further extraction and cleaning.
What did we find you ask? Dinosaur Skeletons!

Friday’s theme: Dino Disco Party
We worked on having as much fun as possible on this last day of camp!
We created Dino Eggs with a special dinosaur inside and believe it or not, we all asked to share our ideas on why dinosaurs are extinct. We debated like true scientists!
We prepared for our Dino Disco Party by coloring balloons, getting tattoos, and donning glow-bracelets and finger flashlights.
Then...We turned out the lights and turned up the music for our
Dino Disco Party!
