Summer Break: Traveling With Kids

Traveling with the whole family on summer vacation is a great way to freshen things up and spend some quality time together. However, it is no secret that kids can be difficult to travel with. Every family has their own vacation story of a sickly son on an airplane or disgruntled daughter on a road trip. Don’t become that family! There are easy tips and tricks to use that will make this summer vacation a stress-free fun time!

Fun family vacations can be anything from exploring the next town over to traveling across the country to see Grandma and Grandpa. No matter the distance, here are a few trips for traveling with kids.

Kids Love Cameras. Bring an inexpensive digital camera for your child and watch their imagination take off. When you see the pictures your child has taken of your vacation it will be from a completely different viewpoint. This is a great arts and crafts idea too. By photo-logging your journey it will be easy to make a scrapbook out of the pictures, and you can save the photobook to show them when they are older.

Kid Friendly Activities. If you plan on going to any zoos, museums, etc, make sure to check out their websites for any kid friendly special events and activities. Those activities are designed specifically for children, and your kids are sure to love them. Kid’s activities are also typically inexpensive, so it will keep your wallet nice and happy. Also make sure to see if there's a local children's museum in the area - if you have a KidsQuest Deluxe level membership you may be entitled to free admission!

Kids Relax With Music. There really is a reason why mothers lull their babies to sleep by singing softly to them – it puts them to sleep! Kids always seem to have tons of energy, especially it’s time for a nap. Playing music associated with quiet time will help put them right to sleep.

Happy summer vacation!
