The New Waterways Table is Here!

We are so excited to announce the opening of our new Waterways Contraption Table. Waterways is an exhibit where kids use the power of water to make music, puzzle together pipe systems, and splash around using a variety of water toys. Children are given the opportunity to explore their curiosity about water behavior, basic engineering, mechanics and observation through play and interaction.

The new water table provides fun and learning for all of our visitors. It is a multi-table exhibit separated according to three types of interaction - playing, engineering, and building. The play area of the table includes an extra large Archimedes Screw, flume system, water squirters that kids can aim to twirl and spin colorful shapes, a water mushroom, and vibrant tipping buckets. Kids can build a pipe system at the opposite end of the table using various pipe sizes and connecting them any way they would like. Water flows through a rounded staircase which can be altered by the use of various shaped pegs so that kids can experiment with water blocking and flow.

WaterwaysFlumeWater moves in constant motion throughout these fun and stimulating water tables. The high level of interaction contributes to the overall appeal and entertainment value of water. Thank you to all who donated to get this exhibit built. Every drop really does count – thank you!!
