KidsQuest's SuperClean!

We've been SUPERCLEANED! Each year KidsQuest closes for a week in September to install new exhibit components, paint and give the Museum a deep clean. It is always a long and challenging week, but the staff and our awesome helpers did an amazing job to get everything done.

The installation of the Gaming Gallery was top of the list. The giant "Lite Brite" and "Ker-Plunk" were fun to design and even more exciting to see come to life on such a large scale. These hands-on games provide opportunities for multiple children to play together, as well as with their adults! You can also climb up in the Treehouse to further your animal discoveries or put on your hard hat and head to the Garage for some fun with a new train table, building blocks and the improved FETCH! house.

Lite-Bright

Another big change that you will notice is all of the carpet tiles in the Backyard were replaced with FLOR. FLOR is a great company with endless possibilities and we had a hard time deciding what colors and textures to use. We love the new look and the bright new colors-what do you think? Also, the entire Museum was painted; it was a big job and took roughly 12 gallons of paint, but when the majority of your audience is 3 feet tall or shorter, painting every year is a requirement!

In addition to the fun installations, we also rolled up our sleeves and deep cleaned all of KidsQuest! From top to bottom, there is not one inch of the Museum that didn't get wiped down and cleaned. Every component of Waterways was drained and hand scrubbed – even when they were new, I don't think that the cymbals were so shiny!

Please know that even though we only close once a year, we are constantly cleaning the Museum and maintaining our exhibits. We have a professional cleaning crew that comes in five times a week, in addition to the cleaning that our Visitor Experience Team does on a daily basis. If you ever have a question on how a particular exhibit works or about our cleaning procedures, please to do not hesitate to ask!

We could not have done it without our fantastic, hardworking team! Thank you so much to Karmichael Auto Salon for detailing the semi-truck and to Eco-Line for all of the painting and installation of the FLOR.

Let us know what you think of the new exhibits or what your favorite part of the Museum is – we love to hear your thoughts!
