Give a Little, Get a Lot in Return

What have you done to prepare yourself for the food/family/present extravaganza that's fast approaching? Here's an even better question: what have you done for someone else this year?

The KidsQuest staff often adopts a family for the holiday season, or does something else to try and give back to others. This year many of our staff members have chosen to participate in Operation Christmas Child. It's easy: fill an empty shoe box with gifts for a boy or girl, ages 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14, and then drop the gift off at a collection center where it will be shipped somewhere in the world where a child needs it most. Our shoe boxes included everything from small toys to crayons to barrettes to socks to toothpaste (and even some things from KidsQuest!).

Participating in a project like this is a great opportunity to introduce your child to the world of giving. In December, KidsQuest will have a Giving Tree out with paper mittens listing supplies you can donate to the museum for use in our art and science activities. We go through tons of supplies every year, and are so appreciative of the support the community gives us. It's everyday people that help keep KidsQuest alive and growing. Helping your child pick a mitten from the Giving Tree and bring back the listed supply shows them how they can help the community as well.

Happy soon-to-be Holidays!
