At the Bellevue artsfair!

Twirling and whirling! Spinning and splatting! Sunny skies and joyful crowds made it a perfect weekend for Spin Art at the Bellevue Arts Museum artsfair! We used salad spinners to spin and mix paint, creating surprising patterns and crazy color combinations!
Not only is spin art painting a lot of fun, but also it illustrates some important color theory principles. We started with the three primary colors: red, blue, and yellow. Primary colors cannot be made from other colors, but they can create all the other colors of the rainbow when mixed together! We became coloring mixing artists as we mixed the primary colors in our spin art. Combining the primary colors created secondary colors: green, orange, and purple.

Everyone had a fabulous paint-swirled time and got to take home some very unique modern art! I know the refrigerators of the Eastside will wear our creations with pride!
