Animal Explorers Camp

What do Animal Explorers love best? Take a wild guess.
I’ll give you a hint:
OINK! MOO! HONK! TWEET!
It was one noisy week here at Animal Explorers Camp, where our campers have spent the last five days learning about farm friends, zoo animals, backyard wildlife, sea creatures and pets.
On Monday, after getting to know one another, campers explored raw wool, processed wool and wool yarn; experimented with water absorbing “mud”; created felt using water, soap, wool and their own bare hands; and counted with chicks and eggs.
On Tuesday we learned about exotic creatures from around the world as we experimented with sand to make the stripes on a zebra, painted papier-mache giraffes, made animal-print collage masks and balanced monkeys!
On Wednesday campers explored local wildlife by making animal tracks, investigating pelts and skulls, building bird nests, creating pokey porcupines, matching birds to their nests, and painting wiggly wooden snakes.
On Thursday we “travelled” to the sea, to practice our fishing, paint fish replicas, make fish prints and invent crazy sea creatures.
On Friday we said goodbye, but not before making tie-dye paper pets, building dog houses, experimenting with magnets, creating animal ear hats, decorating pet puppets for a show, and meeting one very special furry visitor, Tinkerbell!
We will miss our Animal Explorers, but know they are now prepared to explore the wild and all the animals (OINK! MOO! HONK! TWEET!) that come with it!
